Instrument Repair
Brass and Woodwind Repair
Twelve years of my life was spent in music retail where each summer, master repair technician, Bill Holtcamp taught me a new skill every week. First how to clean brass instruments, then, how to remove dents and pull slides. Woodwind repair as well; replace a pad or tenon cork joint, adjust a key, oil. Eventually, I gained the experience to repad flutes, clarinets and saxophones and completely overhaul brass instruments. In 1986, I opened Romero Family Music Center which had a full service repair shop. I taught instrument repair at Oklahoma Baptist University for nine years and continue to hold summer repair workshops for current and future music educators.
